Explore This Hobbit Home That Looks Like It Jumped Straight Out of the Movies

The films "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings" series are adaptations of novels by the renowned British author J.R.R. Tolkien, making them monumental works in film history. In these stories, hobbits, with an average height of only 1 meter, reside in cave-like Hobbit Hole surrounded by flowers and lawns, becoming the dream dwelling for fans.

Nestled in the side of a grassy bank in the woodland of West Stow, Suffolk is this magical hobbit home, called Pod Hollow. The frame of the house is constructed from concrete, steel bars, and corrugated metal pipes, making it extremely sturdy. According to the homeowner, even driving a tank over the roof wouldn't be a problem.

The cottage stands at a height of 9 feet, and although it may not appear very large from the outside, its interior spans a generous 753.47 sq. ft.

Inside, the decor is very beautiful. Whether it is the roof, the door frame or the windows, are used in a round, creating an almost entirely angular-free environment that superbly recreates scenes from the Hobbit movies.

Upon entering through the circular door, you step into the dining area, with the kitchen to the right.

The kitchen is tidy and well-equipped, featuring amenities such as a dishwasher, integrated oven, refrigerator, microwave, and more.

Directly opposite the restaurant is a small living room, equipped with a four-person dining table, three sofas, and a fireplace. The paintings hanging above the fireplace and the vintage carpet make you feel like you're in a movie.

The cottage boasts two double bedrooms, which though not overly spacious, are delightfully snug and inviting. At the foot of the bed, there's a memorable quote: "Let Us Drink Like Dwarves, Smoke Like Wizards, And Party Like Hobbits." This sentence summarizes the lifestyle attitudes of various races in the movie.

Additionally, there's a modern and inviting bathroom with a separate shower enclosure and a heated towel rack.

Surrounded by expanses of woodland and lawns, the cottage seems nestled within its own secluded corner, truly resembling a scene straight out of the movies. Presently, it's utilized as a short-term rental, with nightly rates of approximately around £200 (as of the 2024 update).
